RE *, that was my favorite part of this blog, great song. My parents were huge Carpenter's fans and as a result of being stuck in their car for hours on end, I was too and still am. :)

^ Just kidding. I totally agree with the fact that smaller banks have more agility in terms of creativity as well as taking creative risks and truly engaging with their communities! In my neighborhood I know or at least know of the bank managers from American Eagle, Harris, PNC, First Merit (just took over Midwest), North Community, a new guy I just met from First Commercial and prob others I am forgetting. Every time I've tried to meet the managers from bigger banks I am greeted with blank stares or a "They're not around," or "She's at the other branch and is only here on Tuesdays."

And when big banks try to become more community based, sometimes they end up receiving backlash. One example was a Letter to the Editor in Time Out Chicago that I just read about the Chase Community Giving campaign. I had a very similar reacation to the campaign as did many others I know, especially those in positions of clout who felt like they were being over contacted by people encouraging them to vote for their theater.
