After reading the article, one wonders if this is about politicians being misled, or politicians misleading. Industry learned long ago that needs-based innovation is the most cost- and process-efficient way to effectively compete in the marketplace. It's not surprising that government -- and entity that is used to spending first and asking questions later -- is not there yet. Let's hope this latest revelation leads to real change in how the UK government approaches innovation.
