Given the longstanding reputation Disney has, I do applaud them for using their prominent name to (try to) help promote more environmentally- responsible behavior.
I'd like to see how their organization works from the inside though-- do they have greener practices, or are they just preaching to their audience to "be green", without converting lifestyles themselves? Even the way the "Friend for Change" commercial is shot, for example: http://bit.ly/dkBlnU They Disney cast members are promoting a greener Earth with a large screen in the background, which displays an open field, the great outdoors, etc. Why not just shoot the commercial actually outdoors instead of just replicating it?
Something that concerns me too, is that while this definitely trying to motivate Disney audiences to have greener practices, it does so through the use of television commercials. Does watching more TV= being more green? How can Disney help motivate their audience without keeping them glued to the Tube?

Reputation is a business driver & creates growth - "more so than in the past"
CSR important to customers, shareholders, and employees especially among Disney's core demographic of customers so therefore is a significant growth initiative AND the right thing to do.
Do you think most corporate leaders believe that they can "make green" by "being green"?
