Just saw a story about a solar-powered toothbrush. http://solarlighting-s.com/solar-toothbrush/

Nope, it isn't driven by the sun, but when sun hits it, it creates a reaction that allows you to brush effectively without toothpaste?

I believe this is a true 21st century innovation because it makes life simpler, and reduces reliance on natural resources - the stuff that goes into toothpaste.

Of course, you can argue that the resources that go into the toothbrush don't come from nowhere. But what if the toothbrush lasts and lasts, and you never need to buy another tube of toothpaste? I think it's a move in the right direction. Thoughts?

Although the idea sounds interesting, I'm not particularly sure that's what I imagine when I think of 21st century innovation.
As I prepare myself to brush my teeth, I realized my bathroom is particularly dark -my neighbor built a taller house than mine-. I also realized that I actually enjoy the "toothpaste sensation" (smell, feel). How would this 21st century invention work when traveling and packed inside a dark suitcase?

These are just simple questions any consumer could make. For me, 21st century innovation is creating something where value is perceived without complications. As I thought of the bathroom experience, imagine a vitamin mouthwash. Just as you spend 30 seconds in an already known task, you get a 10% vitamin C addition.
Sounds more like the 21st century doesn't it?

Cool build on your idea. What if your toothbrush could be used to do a rudimentary daily health check? That way, first thing in the morning, you could know if you were getting run down and should dose up on the echinacea or Vit C.

Even better, if your toothbrush told you that you were still tired, and needed to go back to sleep. Better yet, it placed a call to your office and told them you needed the extra zzz's.

;-)

Thanks for sending your thoughts, Carlos. it would be great to hear from you more on this forum!

Cheers
