I would like to open a thread on the persspective of the Project of the Century- harnesssing a power of a Volcanoe to generate electricity. Not the geothermal project but real volcanoe- get the heat of magma. The very crude assessment leaves us with the message that we can get power enough to solve any energy problem of the planet. Here is what I would like to see duscussed:
1. Feasiblity- opinion if our technology levels are enough
2. Engineering- what are the challenges and possible options
3. Any volcanoe or a specific one
4. How can people work in such environment
5. Legacy
Comparison with the previous similar endeavors: Transatlantic Cable, Golden Gate Bridge, Lunar expedition. Manhattan project. What's the similarity and what's the ddifference?

It is my firm belief that the only possible way of solving the global energy crisis is to address the unchallenged Earth Resources as well as the ones from Space. In Space we have Sun- we should develop a concentrated energy delivery from space to one or two facilities of distribution. On earth we have volcanoes. All previous endeavors of such sorts were driven by fear or ambition. This one must be driven by necessity and pride. The whole Planet Humanity must be involved. As such I post a challenge- how do we do it. I myself am working on some specific thermodynamic process which if successful could become a foundation for it but here I need open forum. Let's imagine we are Humanity and we MUST harness the Volcano. How?
